Family/School connections through digital stories

Implementation in Year 2

As part of a class assignment pre-service teachers will be required to identify one student to conduct a literacy case study and to interview a family. The students will create a digital story with the family and children/pre-service teacher will engage related in language/literacy development activities using their family story as ‘text.’. Observations, family interviews, and field notes will be collected as data pending IRB approval and according to ethical standards, data will not be utilized while the students are in the course.
